Coup\u00e9s de leurs unit\u00e9s, de leurs amiti\u00e9s profond\u00e9ment enracin\u00e9es, des structures et des routines de la vie militaire, les soldats qui rentrent affrontent des d\u00e9fis tels que la culpabilit\u00e9 du survivant, le stress post-traumatique et les troubles de sant\u00e9 mentale, ainsi que l\u2019isolement social.<\/p>\n<p>Les ateliers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mostimportantpicture.org\/odyssey\"><em>Odyssey<\/em><\/a> cherchent \u00e0 utiliser la photographie pour cr\u00e9er de nouvelles connexions entre les anciens combattants, trouver un objectif commun, donner du sens et d\u00e9couvrir la beaut\u00e9. En utilisant la photographie comme outil pour aider les v\u00e9t\u00e9rans \u00e0 se r\u00e9int\u00e9grer \u00e0 la vie civile, le projet fournit un r\u00e9seau de soutien entre pairs ainsi qu\u2019un mentorat par des artistes\/\u00e9ducateurs. Ce programme de trois mois, comprenant des ateliers hebdomadaires de photographie, commenc\u00e9 en 2018, a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 quatre fois en collaboration avec le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jhproject.org\/\">Josephine Herrick Project<\/a> et le centre des v\u00e9t\u00e9rans du Queens, ainsi qu\u2019avec la galerie CEPA et le centre des v\u00e9t\u00e9rans de Buffalo. Dans les semaines suivantes, les participants explorent l\u2019impact de la guerre sur leurs vies \u00e0 travers la photographie. Ils se photographient les uns les autres, ainsi que leurs proches et des lieux significatifs, cr\u00e9ant des r\u00e9cits visuels qui \u00e9clairent le pass\u00e9 tout en regardant vers l\u2019avenir. Le groupe travaille avec des techniques comme la cyanotypie et r\u00e9alise un \u00ab projet de r\u00eaves \u00bb, en plus de portraits en double exposition. Ces derniers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 introduits apr\u00e8s qu\u2019un participant ait cr\u00e9\u00e9 un autoportrait fusionnant des images avec un logiciel d\u2019\u00e9dition photographique.
