Cette r\u00e9gion a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019une des plus touch\u00e9es par les violences, principalement d\u2019ordre ethnique, qui ont \u00e9clat\u00e9 apr\u00e8s les r\u00e9sultats controvers\u00e9s des \u00e9lections de 2007\/08. Les tribus, anciennement en conflit, et les familles des victimes continuaient de vivre c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te dans des zones mixtes, o\u00f9 la m\u00e9fiance et la peur persistaient. Le brusque d\u00e9clenchement de violences avait traumatis\u00e9 la population, qui craignait une reprise du conflit. Haine, ressentiment et repr\u00e9sailles rythmaient la vie quotidienne, et beaucoup doutaient qu\u2019une paix durable f\u00fbt possible.<\/p>\n<p>En collaboration avec l\u2019organisation locale <em>A-Step<\/em>, Valentina Ba\u00fa a travaill\u00e9 avec neuf jeunes adultes \u00e2g\u00e9s de 20 \u00e0 34 ans issus de diff\u00e9rents groupes tribaux, vivant dans le plus grand bidonville d\u2019Eldoret, la principale ville de la vall\u00e9e du Rift. J&#8217;ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de le photographier devant ce b\u00e2timent parce qu&#8217;il est Kikuyu, et on pense que la majorit\u00e9 de ces locaux appartiennent aux Kikuyus. Les gens estiment que, du moins dans cette r\u00e9gion du Kenya, les Kikuyus repr\u00e9sentent une classe sup\u00e9rieure, incomparable \u00e0 d&#8217;autres tribus. Leur mode de vie et leurs conditions de vie les font para\u00eetre meilleurs que les autres.<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: right;\">C&#8217;est pour cela que j&#8217;ai choisi cette maison pour la photo. M. n&#8217;est pas content lorsqu&#8217;il entend dire que les Kikuyus auraient manipul\u00e9 les \u00e9lections ; il pense que le pr\u00e9sident a gagn\u00e9 par lui-m\u00eame, sans fraude. Pourtant, les gens disent qu&#8217;ils ont vol\u00e9 les votes, mais lui affirme que ce n&#8217;est pas le cas. Il m&#8217;a expliqu\u00e9 qu&#8217;il ressent que sa tribu est discrimin\u00e9e par des personnes qui les traitent de voleurs. Selon lui, les Kikuyus sont per\u00e7us comme vivant du vol, alors qu&#8217;en r\u00e9alit\u00e9, ils sont tr\u00e8s travailleurs<em>.<\/em>.<br \/><strong>\u00a9 Brenda, 23 ans \/ <\/strong><strong>Lenses of Conflict and Peace, Kenya <\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font=&#8221;&#8211;et_global_body_font|300|||||||&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;22px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.2em&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Dans son <a href=\"https:\/\/cnxus.org\/resource\/using-participatory-photography-for-peace-a-short-guide-for-practitioners\/\">guide pour professionnels<\/a>, Ba\u00fa d\u00e9taille les activit\u00e9s quotidiennes, incluant des promenades photographiques, la cr\u00e9ation de cartes photo communautaires, des sessions de narration et l\u2019\u00e9criture de l\u00e9gendes. Les participants, r\u00e9partis par paires, ont pris des photos dans leurs communaut\u00e9s, puis les ont analys\u00e9es en ateliers pour identifier des probl\u00e8mes et proposer des solutions. Bien qu\u2019une exposition locale ait \u00e9t\u00e9 envisag\u00e9e, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 annul\u00e9e par crainte de r\u00e9actions n\u00e9gatives. Les images ont cependant \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9es \u00e0 Istanbul et \u00e0 Sydney.
