Il propose des ateliers de photographie aux communaut\u00e9s indig\u00e8nes et abrite une archive de photographies indig\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00c9tat du Chiapas, situ\u00e9 au sud du Mexique, abrite une population o\u00f9 pr\u00e8s d\u2019un tiers des habitants sont indig\u00e8nes et o\u00f9 l&#8217;on parle environ 56 langues autochtones diff\u00e9rentes. Cet \u00c9tat est marqu\u00e9 par des formes de conflit et de violence persistantes et interconnect\u00e9es. Le soul\u00e8vement arm\u00e9 indig\u00e8ne zapatiste de 1994 contre les forces gouvernementales et la crise qui a suivi ont r\u00e9sult\u00e9 des abus des droits humains envers les populations indig\u00e8nes, de la privation mat\u00e9rielle extr\u00eame, du racisme institutionnel et des r\u00e9visions des lois sur les terres communales. Les ann\u00e9es qui ont suivi ont \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9es par des tensions, des violences sporadiques et un processus de paix stagnant, cr\u00e9ant des divisions au sein des communaut\u00e9s indig\u00e8nes. Les strat\u00e9gies contre-insurrectionnelles du gouvernement ont entra\u00een\u00e9 des disparitions, des d\u00e9placements forc\u00e9s et des divisions internes. Fond\u00e9 par <strong>S\u0153ur Carlota Duarte,<\/strong> le programme est dirig\u00e9 et g\u00e9r\u00e9 par un personnel indig\u00e8ne bas\u00e9 \u00e0 San Crist\u00f3bal de Las Casas.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation, le <em>CPP<\/em> a form\u00e9 plus de 500 photographes indig\u00e8nes issus de divers horizons ethniques et linguistiques, utilisant des techniques analogiques et num\u00e9riques. Ces ateliers rassemblent diff\u00e9rentes communaut\u00e9s et groupes, permettant \u00e0 des artistes indig\u00e8nes individuels de d\u00e9velopper des projets sp\u00e9ciaux qui c\u00e9l\u00e8brent et documentent leur patrimoine culturel et leur m\u00e9moire historique. De nombreux projets ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s sous forme de livres ou d\u2019expositions. Par ailleurs, le <em>CPP<\/em> a cr\u00e9\u00e9 l\u2019<em>Archivo Fotogr\u00e1fico Ind\u00edgena<\/em>, une collection contenant plus de 85 000 n\u00e9gatifs pris par des photographes form\u00e9s par le <em>CPP<\/em>. Les travaux des photographes du <em>CPP<\/em> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9s et expos\u00e9s dans leurs communaut\u00e9s ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019international.
